I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ when I was seven years old. My father explained the Gospel to me and I clearly remember understanding my need for a Savior and making a decision to follow Christ. In high school I reaffirmed my commitment to Christ and took leadership roles in youth group and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I sensed a call to ministry at a young age and yielded myself to full-time ministry in college after a summer internship at my home church.
After high school, I went to Oklahoma State University (Go pokes!) where I majored in fraternity life (FIJI) and Broadcast Journalism. After college I worked for Young Life for five years, including one year in Ethiopia and 4 years in Ponca City, OK. Both experiences were incredible in different ways and helped to shape me and my philosophy of ministry. I married Elizabeth in 2007. We have three kids, Braxton (7), Campbell (5), and Truett (8 months). I completed my Masters degree in Systematic Theology from Dallas Seminary in 2007.
My heart for the global church has taken me in recent years to India, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia where I've been a part of the theological training of pastors and local church leaders.
I am excited to be leading our staff, ministry leaders and congregation, and I love the DNA and direction of our church.
My passions are leading, teaching & preaching, and being a friendly influence in people’s lives – challenging them to greater intimacy with Jesus and greater influence in their world for Him. I believe my primary job is to "equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Eph. 4:12), therefore I am passionate about training every member of our church family to be an effective minister & missionary.
